Craft fairs
Some people really enjoy their new hobby. Hobby ceramics has given them a new lease of life, however they do not feel confident enough to teach others this exciting new hobby.
To make moneey you can paint pieces for your friends or you can paint and build up a stock of goods to take along to a craft fair.
Craft fairs are held all over europe most weekends there is something going on somewhere.
All you have to do is book a table or stall for the day. Usually the fee to do this can be anywhere between 20.00 to 50.00 euros depending on the size of the event and the location.
You will soon discover which are the most successful fairs to attend. Organisers that spend on advertising and promoting their business attract the biggest crowds. After all the organisers only make money on the door fee they charge to the public.
You do not need to specialise in any one type of goods you can paint absolutely anything. The thrill of people admiring your work and purchasing your goods will spur you on and you will soon discover which items sell.
There are always people who collect fairies, pigs, bears etc etc. make sure everyone who buys an item takes away your business card they may call you and ask for another piece that you had on show.
Always remember to dress your table with nice cloths use packing boxes to raise items higher and give interest to the public. Try to light up some of the painted pieces with spotlight. Look around a few craft fairs where would you spend your money which stalls attract you...
Once again if you do not have a good bisque supplier then you will need to buy a kiln. You can buy greenware or produce your own. You can invest anywhere from 1200 - 1800 euros to start you off.
A small kiln a few moulds and paint stock and you are on your way.
