Mass production
You don`t have to be a big boy to mass produce your products. You need to find a gap in the market that you can fill.
Perhaps you want to produce household items or speciality products. You have to decide where you want to retail your products how are you going to distribute your products.
When you chose your lines you will buy several mould lines that you want to sell.
Blocks of 10-20 of each are used for production.
You will need a large kiln, pouring tables, spray booths and other safety equipment.
It is how you present your goods that will help them sell. The right packaging makes all the difference.
you will need to get to all the trade fairs to present your goods to buyers so that they can pre order from you.
You must be able to provide a delivery date to your customers as they will be buying for different seasons and holidays.
Don't take on more that you can chew. Work out just how long it will take you to produce the ceramic pieces you are offering.
Although the mark up is huge do not stretch yourselves too far. Remember you have to deliver the goods at the right time to the right place at the right price.
To set up and establish yourself you will need a small factory unit or commercial space with a three phase electric supply or gas depending on which kilns you chose.
Most of your clay, paint etc will be bought in bulk so you will save there. Your initial investment will be approx 20,000 euros to get you on the road.
You will need to then have some form of transport or shipping arrangement with a transport company. Remember to take all the costs into consideration before you price out your finished goods.
